School Values

Term 1 No. 2

Kia ora e te whānau

It has been great to see the children so involved in school life. They are engaged in the classroom programmes and are actively participating in the playground. Our PALs have been for their training session and they are also helping others to be active by running games for them to play at lunchtime.

Our Road Patrollers have had their refresher course and are doing an amazing job with crossing everyone safely. Please support them by not parking on the double yellow lines, as this makes it very difficult for them to see the oncoming traffic.

As you know regular Attendance is a focus this year. Thank you for supporting us in this area. Please ensure you use HERO to let us know if your child will not be at school, as this is for their safety. So far we are tracking well towards our attendance goal for 2026.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Goal Setting Hui. If you have not yet had the chance to speak to your child's teacher about their goals for this year please contact them or the school office to make a time to discuss these.

We look forward to working with you to make this a great year for your tamariki.

The Society of Vincent de Paul

Economic times are pretty tough out there for whānau at the moment and we are fortunate to be able to offer support where we can.  The Society of Vincent de Paul is a fantastic charitable organisation that is offering hardship support.  If you need support with any of the following, please contact Dan Sussmilch (dansvdp@outlook.com)

  • Extra bed covering and pyjamas
  • Clothing
  • Crippling power bills (there are limits on this)
  • Firewood
  • Assistance with school uniforms
  • Home food parcel assistance

The Home and School Association are selling Juicies during Term 1 on Thursdays at morning tea time (10.35am – 10.55am) and they will cost $2.

The Tamatea Board of Trustees would like to welcome Alyse Aldridge as a Parent Representative to the School Board.

The next Board of Trustees meeting will take place at 5.45pm on Tuesday,
24 March 2026 in Room 9.  Parents and Caregivers are most welcome to attend this meeting to see what we do on the Board for Tamatea Primary School.
